Description:
Pike River Granite Company plant located on the south end of Amberg east of the railroad tracks. The Amberg plant had about fifteen workers and received wages averaging from four to five dollars a day for nine hours work. The plant produced an average of twenty two carloads of monumental stone each year. The company operated quarries in Amberg and Middle Inlet and a shed in Marinette. The building later became a sawmill.
