Tongs with long wood handle for grabbing items off high store shelves.

General stores placed items on shelving that often went up to the ceiling of the store. To get the items off the high shelves they used this device. It has a long wooden pole to reach the upper shelves. There is a trigger that closes the tongs to grab hold of the item.
