Chain walker
Catalog Number:

Notes:
Other possible uses have been suggested such as a railroad spike puller; however, there is another tool made specifically for that purpose that is commonly used.

Another suggested use was to pull railroad ties out from under the rails; however, tongs, similar to logging tongs, are commonly used for that purpose.
Description:
Used to move heavy loads by attaching a chain to the bottom foot and a secured object. One of the hooks is connected to another chain. When the handle is pulled toward the chain the other hook is brought under and attached to the chain allowing the first hook to be released. The item is moved by continuing to "walk the chain." Thus the common name as a "Chain Walker." Used by farmers, loggers, and railroad workers.
