Description:
The picture shows workers from the Amberg Granite Company in the large stone shed working on finishing large round columns. The company had contracts for the Chicago Post Office, the Capitol building in St. Paul, the Mausoleum in Chicago, and other building projects. Sixty-five stone cutters and fifteen drillers worked in the shed which was 410 feet long and 100 feet wide.
