A graphite polish used in polishing cast iron stoves, grates, and ranges. A further suggested use listed on label was for lubricating wagon axles.

In the early nineteen hundreds many buildings were heated by wood stoves. The cast iron stoves often rusted, so after the rust was removed a stove polish was applied just like one uses a shoe polish to make the shoes shine and look like new.
