List of contents: "Sarsaparilla Compound, Emulsion Cod Oil, Rheumatic Remedy, Dyspepsia Remedy, Cough Syrup Large, Cough Syrup Small, Cholera Mixture, Thieleman's Cholera Drops, Jamaica Ginger, Sore Throat Gargle, Good Liniment, Rheumatic Liniment, Large Liver Pills, Little Liver Pills, Quinine Pills, Toothache Drops, Stengthening Plasters, Court Plasters, Headache Powders, Catarrh Snuff, Petrolatum, Pine Tar for Horses, Carbolic Salvo, Veterinary Carbolic Salve, Pat. Horse Liniment, Condition Powders, Colic Mixture for Horses, and [Lice Powder] (written in by hand).

Medicine chest number 202 kept at Camp I operated by the Goodman company which contained medical remedies for both the horses and the people. The chest contains the original packing list with the title, "Thompson's Camp Remedies" which was signed by J. S. Peterson and packed by Thorvald Nelson. See notes for list of included remedies.

If you had a cough, a headache, a fever, or perhaps a toothache, there were no medical doctors or dentists at a lumber camp, but there were cures for all these and many more found in the medicine chest. You could even find medicine for the horses such as liniment and a mixture to treat colic.
